Provided by:Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness
Description
The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is inviting applications for its bursary program for the 2026 academic year, aimed at supporting students residing in the Western Cape pursuing health science qualifications. The department, established in 1994, is dedicated to delivering public healthcare and oversees various specialised care facilities. The bursary is intended to cover registration, tuition, and examination fees, while accommodation costs are not included. Recipients must enter into a full-time contract with the department and are expected to work for the government post-graduation and complete a community service year, which counts toward their obligations. If bursary holders fail to fulfill their contractual duties, they must reimburse the department for the expenses incurred. Applicants must be South African citizens from the Western Cape who have completed Matric, and they must be applying for an accredited health science program. A detailed application process includes registering on the bursary platform, submitting academic records, and providing various supporting documents. The deadline for applications is 30 September 2025.
