Afrimat Iron Ore (Pty) Ltd is inviting applicants for its bursary programme for the 2025 academic year, targeting students from the Northern Cape. This bursary aims to provide financial assistance to those pursuing studies in various fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Operations related fields like Geology, Environmental Studies, Safety, IT, and Human Resources. Applicants must fulfill several requirements including being a South African citizen, residing in the Northern Cape, having completed Matric, and being registered at a recognized tertiary institution. A minimum of 60% average in their current year of study is also essential. The application consists of submitting a form along with supporting documents via email. Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must reside within the Northern Cape province
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying towards a Higher Certificate/National Diploma/BTech/Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields
- Must be registered at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Must have achieved a minimum average of 60% in current year of study
- Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Preference for students from JTG and Tsantsabane communities
- Preference for students from designated groups and historically disadvantaged backgrounds
